» An eco friendly exhibition
Events have an environmental impact - waste production (most often mixed waste), transport related pollution and water and energy consumption - due to the fact that they bring together people in a specific location. At a time when we are being asked to demonstrate exemplary environmental behaviour, it is vital that good practices develop at every level.
That is why VITeff is making an undertaking, starting with this year’s show and for the following years, to reconcile organisation and eco-friendliness.
As part of the organisation of VITeff, the Reims and Epernay Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the VITeff team undertake to:
- Adopt an eco-friendly communications campaign
By limiting the number and size of paper publications.
By raising awareness about the environment in our publications.
By incorporating environmental criteria when assessing printing tenders.
- Encourage and implement eco-friendly transport
By encouraging car sharing and public transport.
By offering advantageous ticket prices for people who use public transport.
By running shuttle buses.
By using green vehicles during the event.
- Have an eco-friendly purchasing policy and choose environmentally friendly equipment and services
By incorporating environmental criteria into services.
By taking into consideration the environmental quality of promotional accessories.
- Control consumption and manage waste
By reducing the quantity of disposable and non-recyclable crockery.
By organising an effective waste management system.
By setting up water saving systems.
- Raise awareness about the environment
By training stakeholders and partners.
By setting up environment information points.
Media communications work.
By producing and publicising an environmental audit of the event.

| Eco-friendliness
Eco-friendliness (or environmental friendliness) involves the inclusion of sustainable development principles throughout the governance process (planning, creation, management, decision-making, assessment and repairing). It is also based on the principle of environmental law and ethics which states that everyone is obliged to preventively protect the environment and rectify environmental damage. |
