The Epernay Pays de Champagne Community of Communes organised, as part of VITeff 2007, the 18th Innovation Prize with the support of the Champagne-Ardennes Regional Council and the Club des Entrepreneurs Champenois, sponsored by Oseo, CIVC, ITV France and Europol’AGRO.

The competition aims to promote the most innovative and eco-friendly wine-growing and oenological techniques.
It is aimed at companies exhibiting at VITeff and at laboratories and research teams from the following European countries: Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland.

At the 2007 awards, companies were able to compete for the Innovation Prize in one of the following five categories:

• 1st prize “Viticulture”
• 1st prize “Oenology”
• 1st prize “Wrapping and packaging”
• 1st prize “Environment”
• 1st prize “International”

The 2007 Innovation Prize partners and the members of the panel of judges also awarded:

• The "Coup de cœur" prize

At the 2007 awards, the research laboratories and teams could compete for innovation prizes in the following two categories:

• 1st prize “Applied research”
• 1st prize “Grape co-products”
